When you decide to commission April to take your portraits, you are getting an experience like none other. Because this is custom photography, the ultimate goal is to create a classic, timeless and beautiful work of art to be treasured for years to come. April has a passion for photography, and her passion is evident in every single image she creates.
The difference really is in the details. April obsesses about all the fine details as she truly believes that is what differentiates a picture from a work of art. With a doctorate degree in Advanced Optics, she understands the importance of lighting and how it can be used to create an outstanding portrait. She also wants to know your unique needs, and how her services can be best used for you and your family. She takes the time necessary to get to know you and your child, in order to capture those special moments you cherish so dearly: the fleeting newness of your newborn, the glowing beauty of your pregnancy, your child’s unique smile, a tender moment between you and your baby. She has a studio, but is available for on-location portraits as well, including the comfort of your own home. The session itself is not rushed, and she takes as much time as necessary as the emphasis truly is on quality. After your session, the emphasis on quality and detail is carried out through the careful retouching process that April has developed. She will also assist you through the ordering process, to determine exactly how to best utilize your investment to create heirloom artwork for your home.
Because of the solid reputation as an Ann Arbor and Southeastern Michigan maternity, newborn, baby, and family photographer she has built based on referrals from satisfied clients, sessions do fill very quickly. Newborn photography is her specialty, however, and she has developed a national client base because of her talent in capturing fine-art newborn images. She has even been featured on popular newborn photography websites, including Allthingsbaby, Inspire Me Baby, Little Bellews, Evoking You, and The Art of Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine. In addition to being available for portrait commission, she has also instructed photographers from all over the country, teaching them the craft of newborn photography, and has even written a book on the topic called “It’s All in the Details – the Science Behind Fine-Art Newborn Photography”. She is a member of the Professional Photographers of Association as well as the National Association of Professional Child Photographers. She is also a pro member of Clickin Moms and I Love Photography websites.
It is best to book as far in advance as possible, to ensure you are able to have this unique custom photography experience!
