I wish I could say these portraits were taken in Las Vegas, but alas they were not (though I am pretty sure I could get some very similar right by my new studio!). I had the opportunity to photograph three of the most beautiful children in the world (my own) on our vacation to Michigan. There was a beautiful park called Maybury Park filled with beautiful trees and meadows, and I knew sunset would be the perfect time to take their portraits. Oh how I loved seeing beautiful golden fields of flowers everywhere! I have to say this is the single biggest thing I miss about the Midwest since moving to Las Vegas. I really was in heaven taking their portraits. I will certainly cherish these forever.
I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous mom-to-be yesterday evening. She and her husband were an absolute pleasure to work with as they were up for anything I suggested. Maternity sessions are always a favorite of mine not only because I think pregnant women are beautiful, but I get to be fully creative with lighting and posing. This was the first session in my brand new studio (literally they were laying down the floor hours before the session) and the whole session was perfect! We were able to get lots of natural light, studio light images, and then headed outdoors to capture our final images in the beautiful evening light. I had so many favorites that I just couldn’t narrow them down (and this isn’t even half of what you will eventually see). Congratulations and I am looking forward to meeting your new baby in a few short weeks!
Earlier this month I was asked by the group Nevada Breastfeeds to do a session for their annual breastfeeding calendar. They publish this calendar to be distributed throughout the state of Nevada to promote breastfeeding to those who might not have considered it. As a mother who breastfed all of my children, I felt it was a wonderful opportunity to promote a worthy cause. That being said, I do not discriminate against women who choose otherwise, as happiness of both mom and baby is what is really important. I don’t think it is a coincidence, though that breastfeeding women tend to like my newborn photography as both are about celebrating the beauty of the love a mother has for her child. I met very many lovely ladies at the session (and I didn’t have a chance yet to blog everyone!) and I can’t wait to show you all the images from your session. Again, thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
