Meet baby M and his big brother J. This family is one of my most loyal clients, my most photographed family (the 5th time to be exact!). I have so much fun photographing these kids too! Despite the wintry weather, they headed over to the studio for M’s 6 month portraits and J’s 2 year portraits. Of course, at these ages we have to keep things interesting, so we turned on the music and danced, and even pulled out the kid’s wooden train (of course I had fun putting that back together!). Enjoy your sneak peek!

This sweet little girl was almost 3 weeks early and not even 6 pounds when she was born. She was such a good eater that by the time I photographed her 8 days later she had gained almost a whole pound! She slept like a champ, and was a pleasure to photograph. I absolutely love the softness to her that we were able to capture. Congrats to the new parents!

Meet the newest baby of the year! He was almost a new year’s baby – just one day late. Dad said he was a big Notre Dame fan, and I learned just how much when I saw his tattoo. I knew how to perfectly show of his two of his greatest loves! This little guy, at just 5 days old was definitely a sleepy one (lulled to dreamland with my sauna-like room, my heartbeat soother, and a full tummy). We had so much fun doing his first photo shoot! Enjoy your sneak peek, but there is much more in store!

It has been an amazing year for me at Works of Love Photography. Although I do photograph children and families of all ages, newborns have a special place in my heart. I had the chance to photograph over thirty babies over the course of the year, and I wanted to showcase some of my favorites in a slideshow for you to enjoy. Each and every baby was a true inspiration, and all of them helped me to refine my style and my skills as a newborn photographer. I cherish the experience I have had with them, and am looking forward to all the babies of 2010!

When this beautiful mom-to-be contacted me and told me what she wanted, I knew that her portraits would turn out beautifully. She was all about moody black and whites, which I think just make stunning maternity portraits. Of, course we had to do a few color ones as well. Congratulations, and I can’t wait to meet your new baby! Enjoy your preview, but there is much more in store!

I thought I was so lucky last session to catch a sleeping baby smile, but I got another one yet again! This little guy, at 8 days old was an absolute joy to photograph! He was my last baby of 2009 as well – an ending for me, but only the beginning for these proud parents. This is only supposed to be a sneak peek, but there were so many favorites I just couldn’t narrow them down! He posed so perfectly, already so photogenic! I even got some super close-up shots too. Enjoy your sneak peek, but this is just the beginning!

Every once in a while I get lucky enough to capture a newborn smile just as they are going to sleep. This little guy happened to grace me with a smile when he was perfectly posed! I just knew it had to be in the sneak peek too. He was a hungry one (I think he had three whole bottles during our session!) but in between meals he was quite the poser. Mom brought along a few of her own props too – her little white hat was just perfect! We even got a good one with big sister too. Enjoy your sneak peek but there is much more in store!

This beautiful little girl, at a mere 6 days old, was one of the sleepiest babies I have ever had! She was so sleepy, that I was able to get an incredible number of setups with her, and even got to try some new things. And her parents were some of the most amazing clients I have ever worked with. Anyone who knows me knows that I have an almost obsessive determination to get the best possible portraits I can. These parents knew that, and were just as determined as me! Not to mention, they share my addiction to newborn props, and even came with several of their own (which I absolutely love). Enjoy your sneak peek, but there is so much more in store too!

This little girl was an absolute pleasure to photograph!!! She was super tiny (not even weighing 6 pounds) but you would never know it from her portraits as she was perfectly proportioned. She was supposed to be the last baby I photographed this month, but ended up being the first as she came three weeks early! It caught mom and dad by complete surprise (and me too, as I ended up doing this as a weekend on-location session)! Congratulations and enjoy your precious new gift!

It was quite an honor to photograph this little guy as he is my new newphew! At just four days old, he was quite the little sleepy-head, which of course made photographing him a pleasure! I am so happy for his parents, and I am looking forward to seeing him grow up over the years. Now my girls will have an new cousin to play with!
