At 8 days old this little guy was sooooo sleepy we were done in record time! He arrived at the studio with a full tummy (and not much sleep the night before, unfortunately for his mommy and daddy) so that when he was lulled to sleep by the warm heat and the heartbeat soother he was off to dreamland in no time flat. I was able to pose him in so many ways too! And I was so excited to photograph him with daddy when I saw all the tatoos he had. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Maternity sessions are some of my favorite – I just think that a pregnant woman radiates with beauty! This gorgeous mom-to-be was no exception and of course was an absolute pleasure to photograph! She was a natural in front of the camera too. Enjoy your sneak peek and stay tuned for their new baby girl next month!

This mom to be I’m sure is counting the days until she gets to meet her new baby, I’m sure! Luckily she won’t have to wait long (and neither will we!). We wanted to do something a little different, and when she said she had a beautiful sari, I knew it would be perfect for maternity portraits! Of course, we still did the usual shots with beautiful lighting too. I just love maternity sessions! Enjoy your sneak peek!

This lovely little lady was such a doll to photograph! At the mere young age of just five days, she definitely still had the curl to her, having just been in her mother’s womb. She slept like a champ too! Isn’t mom just gorgeous too? I have to admit I was a bit jealous when she looked like she hadn’t even had a baby! It was a reunion of sorts for mom and me, as it turns out we went to the same small town high school. It definitely feels like a small world (of course it just got a little bigger though with baby S!). It was a pleasure to meet you and your growing family. Enjoy your sneak peek, but there is much more in store.

I photographed this handsome guy’s parents just a little over 6 weeks ago and let me tell you he has definitely inherited his parents good looks! At a mere five days old he was literally sooooo sleepy I couldn’t get an awake shot if I wanted to! I braved the snowy weather to come photograph him in the comfort of his own home, and it was definitely worth it! He was so bendy and squishy that I could pose him any way I wanted. Enjoy your sneak peek, but there is much more in store.

This was somewhat of a last-minute session, but of course I try to make every effort to work those in when I can. At fourteen days this handsome little guy was old in comparison to the babies I usually photograph! Nevertheless, we were able to capture quite a variety, and even a few zzzz’s for a while too. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Meet baby M and his big brother J. This family is one of my most loyal clients, my most photographed family (the 5th time to be exact!). I have so much fun photographing these kids too! Despite the wintry weather, they headed over to the studio for M’s 6 month portraits and J’s 2 year portraits. Of course, at these ages we have to keep things interesting, so we turned on the music and danced, and even pulled out the kid’s wooden train (of course I had fun putting that back together!). Enjoy your sneak peek!

This sweet little girl was almost 3 weeks early and not even 6 pounds when she was born. She was such a good eater that by the time I photographed her 8 days later she had gained almost a whole pound! She slept like a champ, and was a pleasure to photograph. I absolutely love the softness to her that we were able to capture. Congrats to the new parents!

Meet the newest baby of the year! He was almost a new year’s baby – just one day late. Dad said he was a big Notre Dame fan, and I learned just how much when I saw his tattoo. I knew how to perfectly show of his two of his greatest loves! This little guy, at just 5 days old was definitely a sleepy one (lulled to dreamland with my sauna-like room, my heartbeat soother, and a full tummy). We had so much fun doing his first photo shoot! Enjoy your sneak peek, but there is much more in store!

It has been an amazing year for me at Works of Love Photography. Although I do photograph children and families of all ages, newborns have a special place in my heart. I had the chance to photograph over thirty babies over the course of the year, and I wanted to showcase some of my favorites in a slideshow for you to enjoy. Each and every baby was a true inspiration, and all of them helped me to refine my style and my skills as a newborn photographer. I cherish the experience I have had with them, and am looking forward to all the babies of 2010!
